Terms of Use
Last updated 13 October 2026
These Terms apply to your use of Let's Talk EV (the "Forum"), a community forum about electric vehicles run by Gustav Joubert in South Africa ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Forum you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Forum.
1. Who can use the Forum
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Anyone may read public threads without an account.
2. Your account
- Choose a username that is not misleading, offensive or someone else's name.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your password safe. We do not collect an email address, so we cannot reset a lost password.
- One person, one account. Do not create accounts to get around a ban or a rate limit.
3. What you post
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, reproduce and distribute your post on the Forum (including in search results, feeds and previews) for as long as it is on the Forum. Only post things you have the right to share. Anything you post is public and may be copied by others, so do not post private information.
4. Rules
Be civil and keep to the topic. You may not post content that:
- is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit;
- reveals someone's private information, or impersonates a person or organisation;
- is spam, unsolicited advertising, scams, referral-link farming or repeated self-promotion;
- contains malware, phishing links or anything designed to harm devices or accounts;
- infringes someone else's copyright or other rights.
You may not scrape the Forum at a rate that harms it, attack or probe it, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours.
5. Moderation
We can edit, lock, move or remove content, and suspend or close accounts, at our discretion and without notice, particularly where these Terms are broken or the law requires it. We do not pre-screen posts and are not obliged to monitor the Forum.
6. Advice and safety
Posts are the opinions and experiences of members, not professional advice. Electrical work, home charger installation, battery handling and vehicle modifications can be dangerous: use a qualified, registered electrician or technician and follow your manufacturer's instructions. Prices, ranges, specifications and legal or tax information shared by members may be wrong or out of date. Check important facts yourself.
7. Availability and liability
The Forum is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content will not be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the Forum or from content posted by members. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under South African consumer-protection law that cannot be limited.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using the Forum at any time. To have your account removed, see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end the Forum or your access to it.
9. Copyright and takedowns
If you believe something on the Forum infringes your rights or is unlawful, tell us through the contact form at gustavjoubert.co.za with the page address and what the problem is, and we will review it promptly.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Forum after a change means you accept it.
11. Law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Questions about them: the contact form at gustavjoubert.co.za. See also our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
